As the late Ferdowsi stated; “knowledge is power”. A universally used saying, from Persian poetry, to Asia-Pacific sales, this saying seems to fit. Evo Building Products (Evo Build) is a firm believer that having in-depth product knowledge is essential to the sales process. It is for this reason that Evo Build has teamed up with Masters, and rolled out a national training programme.
Training and Relationships
Masters Home Improvement (Masters) is your one-stop-shop for all items relating to the home; from plasterboard to garden chairs, and everything in between.
A brand that has quickly gained a solid reputation as providing quality products with a professional and personal service, Masters continues to develop its associates and strategy to stay ahead of the competition.
The Customer’s Point of View
Lisa Iconomou, National Training Manager for Masters, believes that “in a market place that is becoming increasingly competitive, to ensure that the organisation remains at the forefront, it is becoming ever more important to develop each area of the business; from the products it sells, to the service it delivers”.
On-going staff training is something that Lisa considers as vital in differentiating the service that Masters offers from its competition.
“To ensure that we offer a service over and above what the competition does, discuss and explain the thousands of products that we stock, and engage in the customer’s problem solving process is crucial. The training that we have completed with Evo Build is invaluable, and something that we are rolling out with other suppliers too.”
The Supplier’s Point of View
James Cowley, Account Manager at Evo Building Products states “to have a company such as Masters proactively engaging with us to learn more about our products is exciting, and very beneficial for both parties. Masters continues to be a leading customer of ours, and to be given the opportunity to develop our relationship with them, and provide a deeper knowledge of our products to its staff is something that I, and Evo Build is very proud of.”
Over the course of the past three months, Evo Build’s three Sales Representatives have trained 59 of Masters stores – some existing stores as well as new stores that are under construction. Each session consisted of a presentation, explaining and showing the typical installations, discussing the unique selling points, as well as being hands on with the materials and answering questions as they arose. As we have experienced in this industry, there is no such thing as a silly question!
Evo Build will continue to work with Masters in top-up sessions, and continue to provide point-of-sale material. So if you are after a top service, pop into your local Masters to have a chat about our products and the wider range that they stock! Information about your local Masters store, their ranges, trading hours, etc can be found at www.masters.com.au.
